Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam💐🤲🏼

Upon the birth of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ, Thuwayba came running to Abū Lahab, the Beloved Prophet’s ﷺ uncle, to give the good news of the birth of his nephew. Abū Lahab became extremely happy and 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 pointed to Thuwayba saying: “I free you in thankfulness of the birth of my nephew!”

What was the outcome of Abū Lahab freeing Thuwayba by merely pointing at her on Mawlid?

‘Urwa narrated: 

“Thuwayba was the freed slave girl of Abū Lahab whom he had manumitted, and then she suckled the Prophet ﷺ.

When Abū Lahab died, one of his relatives (‘Abbās ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib) saw him in a dream in a very bad state and asked him: ‘What have you encountered?’

Abū Lahab said: ‘I have not found any rest since I left you, except that I have been given water to drink in this (𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐛 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚."

Imām Ḥāfidh Shams ud-Dīn bin Nāsir al-Dimashqī states:

“𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐛𝐮̄ 𝐋𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐛’𝐬 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭 (𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐦) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐞-𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚. When Abū Lahab, whose eternal abode is Hellfire and regarding whom whole Sūrah of Tabat Yadā (i.e. Sūrah Lahab) was revealed, he gets Takhfīf in his ‘Adhāb every Monday 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐌𝐮’𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭 (𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐦) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐝.”

 Imām Qastallānī writes:

“How would anyone of the Ummah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ fare, who is a Muslim and is steadfast in his belief in the unity of Allāh and rejoices at his ﷺ birth and who spends whatever he can afford for the love of him ﷺ? 

𝐈 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚̄𝐡, 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐬.”

Imām al-Dimashqī and Imam Qastallānī were scholars who had memorised over 100,000 aḥādīth with matn and sanad like al-Suyūtī, al-‘Asqalānī, al-‘Irāqī, Ibn Kathīr, al-Jazarī, al-Sakhāwī, al-Haytamī etc. - all who approved Mawlid! You expect me to leave their opinion for a dimwit who barely knows the 4 fard of wudū’, took a 3 days crash course on Bukhārī and learnt how to pronounce Bid'ah and Shirk?! Never in 10 lifetimes! Dream on and keep taking the tablets. ‘Ulamā are the heirs of the Prophet ﷺ, the pride and coolness of our eyes, without whom the religion wouldn’t have reached us. #MawlidTillDeath
